Alvin-Manvel Ministerial Alliance Covenant
Vision Statement
The Alvin-Manvel Ministerial Alliance shall glorify Jesus Christ by
cooperating in service to the community and providing opportunity for
fellowship among the clergy of all Christian traditions.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Alvin-Manvel Ministerial Alliance is to:
- Give tangible witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ to others
- Promote the visible unity of the Body of Christ in Alvin and Manvel
- Share resources for a corporate ministry of mercy to those around us
- Provide support and fellowship for those who serve as pastors and other leaders of Christian churches within our area
MembershipMembership within the
Alliance is open to pastors and qualified leaders from all Christian
churches which contribute at least the minimum annual amount for the
corporate ministries of mercy affiliated with the Alliance. The annual
amount shall be established by the Alliance and shall be payable each
year. In addition, dues for individual members shall be set by the
Alliance and paid yearly. The determination of whether any particular
congregation or church leaders is eligible for membership shall be made
by a majority vote of the current members present and voting in a
regularity called meeting.
Leadership
The Alvin-Manvel Ministerial Alliance shall annual elect the following
officers to serve for a term of one year, beginning on January
- A President, whose responsibility is to
- preside over meetings of the Alliance
- set meeting agendas
- initiate the development of annual AMMA events
- present a strategic plan at the beginning of each year that includes goals for accomplishing the stated mission and vision
- provide leadership in correlation with the AMMA mission and vision
- represent it a public functions where appropriate
- welcome all new pastors to the area as soon after their
arrival as possible, acquainting them with the goals of the Alliance
and inviting them into our fellowship.
- A Vice-President, whose primary responsibility shall be to
assist in the development of the annual events of the Alliance,
including worship services and other activities, as well as to assist
the president in other areas as needed. The Vice-President shall also
serve as President-Elect of the Alliance.
- A Secretary, who shall keep records of the Alliance
activities, including a file of worship bulletins from corporate
services and minutes of the meetings.
- A Treasurer, who shall give primary oversight to the raising and disbursement of the mercy ministries funds.
Activities
The primary activities of the Alvin-Manvel Ministerial Alliance
includes a community Thanksgiving Service, sponsorship of the Christmas
Walk-A-Mile, National Day of Prayer activities, and the ongoing mercy
ministries such as the Helping Hands Fund. The Alliance shall sponsor
such other activities or services as its membership deems desirable.
Meetings
Meetings are held monthly, except during June and July, at a time and location decided by the membership.
